Hubble and the M87 Jet Image

November 27, 2023

The Hubble Space Telescope has taken over 1.5 million observations over the years. One of them is the incredible image of galaxy M87 and its giant jet. M87, a massive elliptical galaxy in the Virgo Cluster, is famous for its prominent jet of high-energy particles and radiation that extends for thousands of light-years from its central supermassive black hole. In this video, Dr. Padi Boyd explains this breathtaking image and how important Hubble is to exploring the mysteries of the universe. Learn more about the Hubble Telescope at NASA.
