Handheld Laser Scanner

November 21, 2023

3D laser scanners are a powerful technology that allows us to capture the real world in digital form. They are used in a wide variety of applications, including architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, and archaeology. 3D laser scanners work by emitting a laser beam and measuring the time it takes for the beam to reflect off an object and return to the scanner. This information is used to calculate the distance between the scanner and the object. The scanner then moves to a new position and repeats the process, building up a cloud of points that represents the shape of the object.

The Leica BLK2GO PULSE, a professional handheld 3D laser scanner, emits a pulse of laser points multiple times per second to capture indoor enivironments and show a live 2D and colorized 3D view on your smartphone while you scan. Internal memory provides up to 40 hours of scanning. The battery lasts for 40-45 minutes.
