XR Gaming Glasses
June 27, 2025
The Sentinel XR Gaming Glasses are a wearable display system designed to deliver a cinematic gaming experience in a compact, portable form. Developed by ELO Gaming, these glasses offer a massive virtual screen and console-grade performance for gamers on the go. The Sentinel XR features a 180-inch virtual display that delivers 1080p resolution to each eye with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1 millisecond response time. The display scales dynamically, appearing as a 27-inch screen at 2.6 feet (80 cm) and expanding to a 180-inch view at 9.8 feet (3 meters).
The glasses use Sony’s 0.68-inch OLED modules to achieve a wide 52-degree field of view, ensuring edge-to-edge clarity without distortion. Electrochromic lenses block up to 99.7 percent of ambient light, while built-in side fins reduce glare from all angles. These features combine to create a distraction-free viewing experience, even in bright environments.
The Sentinel XR weighs under 2.8 ounces (80 grams) and includes adjustable nose pads and flexible arms to fit a wide range of users. Built-in myopia correction from 0 to -5.0 diopters eliminates the need for prescription lenses, making the glasses accessible to users with mild to moderate nearsightedness.
Connectivity is handled via a magnetic USB-C pogo pin cable, ensuring a stable, low-latency connection to a wide range of devices. The glasses are compatible with Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 (via docking), iPhones with USB-C, Android devices, and PCs. They also support Xbox Cloud Gaming and PlayStation Remote Play, enabling console-level gaming from virtually anywhere. For users seeking a complete portable setup, the Sentinel XR ecosystem includes the OmniBase computing hub and the Vagabond V2 controller. The OmniBase runs Android OS, offers 128 GB of internal storage, and functions as a power bank and connectivity hub. The Vagabond V2 controller features Hall Effect joysticks, silent mechanical buttons, and customizable layouts for Xbox or PlayStation-style gameplay.
