VR Gaming Chair
August 6, 2025
The Roto VR Explorer is a motorized gaming chair designed for seated virtual reality for a fully immersive, motion-synchronized experience. Unlike traditional setups that rely solely on headset tracking and handheld controllers, the Explorer adds a physical layer of interaction by rotating in sync with the player’s gaze, creating a 360-degree environment that responds to natural movement.
Roto’s proprietary Look and Turn technology features a head tracker mounted to the user’s VR headset that communicates with the chair’s motorized base, allowing the seat to rotate smoothly in the direction the player looks. This eliminates the need for artificial locomotion methods like joystick turning or teleportation, which often contribute to motion sickness. By aligning physical rotation with visual input, the Explorer helps maintain spatial orientation and comfort during extended play sessions.
The chair is compatible with over 400 seated VR games and apps, including titles that use gaze-based navigation such as Iron Man VR and SWARM 2. It supports Meta Quest headsets and integrates with PC-based VR platforms. A built-in rumble pack delivers haptic feedback throughout the seat, translating in-game impacts and vibrations into tactile sensations that enhance realism.
The Explorer features a high-quality leather seat, adjustable height, and a footrest for long-term comfort. The base measures 33 inches (84 centimeters) in diameter, similar to a standard swivel chair, but users are advised to allow an extra meter of clearance for safe arm movement.
Additional features include smart cable management, headset charging during gameplay, and modular accessory support for flight sticks, racing wheels, and other peripherals. Setup is plug-and-play, requiring no software installation.
