Vision Perception Exoskeleton

December 8, 2025

The IRMO M1 Vision Perception Exoskeleton is a wearable system that integrates advanced robotics with computer vision to enhance human mobility, strength, and situational awareness. Unlike traditional exoskeletons that rely solely on mechanical assistance, the IRMO M1 introduces vision-based navigation, allowing the device to perceive and respond to its environment in real time.

The IRMO M1 is designed to support users in walking, lifting, and navigating complex terrain. The exoskeleton employs a multi-joint mechanical framework that mirrors human biomechanics, providing assistance to the lower body and reducing strain during movement. Embedded actuators deliver precise torque to critical joints, enabling smoother motion and improved endurance. The system is lightweight yet durable, constructed from aerospace-grade alloys and composites to balance strength with portability.

Equipped with cameras and depth sensors, the exoskeleton continuously maps the surrounding environment. This allows it to detect obstacles, slopes, and uneven surfaces, adjusting its support dynamically to maintain stability and safety. The vision system also enables semi-autonomous navigation, guiding users through unfamiliar or hazardous areas with predictive path planning.

The exoskeleton integrates an intelligent control unit that fuses sensor data with machine learning algorithms. This enables adaptive assistance tailored to the user’s gait, strength, and activity. For rehabilitation patients, the system can gradually reduce support as muscle strength improves, fostering recovery while minimizing risk.

The frame is adjustable to accommodate different body sizes, and the modular design allows for quick assembly and maintenance. Power is supplied by a rechargeable battery system capable of up to 8 hours of operation, with swappable packs to extend usage in demanding environments.
