Utility EBike
April 10, 2026
The Velotric GoMad is a heavy-duty, fat-tire utility e-bike designed to combine the hauling capacity of a cargo bike with the all-terrain versatility of an off-road model. The GoMad is built around a compact, one-size step-through frame that accommodates riders ranging from 5 feet to 6’3 through an adjustable handlebar and stem system. It is positioned as a car-alternative, capable of handling everything from grocery runs and school drop-offs to weekend adventures on mixed terrain.
Performance is centered on a 750W rear hub motor that delivers 1300W of peak power and 85Nm of torque, providing the necessary strength to climb steep hills even when fully loaded. The bike supports a total payload capacity of 500 pounds, with a reinforced rear rack rated for 176 pounds. This rack utilizes the MIK HD quick-release system, allowing users to easily swap between child seats, passenger kits, and cargo bags. Safety is managed by Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with large rotors for consistent stopping power, and the bike is fully UL-certified for both the electrical system and the battery.
The GoMad features SensorSwap technology, which allows the rider to toggle between torque and cadence sensor modes with a single click. Torque mode provides a nuanced, responsive power delivery that feels natural for mixed or technical terrain, while cadence mode is better suited for effortless cruising at steady speeds. The bike also features several smart security and connectivity tools, including integrated Apple Find My and Android Find Hub tracking, NFC keyless unlocking, and a dedicated mobile app for personalized ride tuning and motor adjustment.
The standard battery is IPX7 waterproof and offers a range of up to 75 miles on a single charge. For those needing more distance, the frame includes a dedicated second battery compartment to extend the total range to 150 miles. The GoMad is available in colors such as Obsidian, Sage, and Dark Amber. Standard equipment includes 20x4.0-inch fat tires, a 100mm travel hydraulic suspension fork, integrated fenders, and a high-output lighting system featuring a 500-lumen headlight and a rear light with turn signals and braking indicators.
