Trainable AI Robotic Dog
July 15, 2025
The Hengbot Sirius is a compact, trainable AI robotic dog designed to bring lifelike movement, expressive interaction, and open-source programmability to everyday users. Weighing just 2.2 pounds and standing 10 inches tall, Sirius combines advanced robotics with customizable personality traits. The Sirius robotic dog uses Hengbot’s proprietary Neurocore actuator system, which delivers 14 degrees of freedom and enables fluid, biomimetic motion. The robot can sprint, leap, turn, and dance with agility that mimics real canine behavior. Its aviation-grade aluminum alloy frame ensures durability while maintaining a lightweight profile, allowing for responsive movement and portability.
Sirius is powered by a 5 TOPS edge computing processor and integrates a large language model for natural voice interaction. Users can speak directly to Sirius, which understands and responds with conversational accuracy. The robot also supports gesture recognition, facial tracking, and multimodal feedback, creating a dynamic and intuitive communication experience.
Users can upload personalized voice packs, modify facial expressions with full RGB lighting control, and assign unique character personas using a drag-and-drop visual editor. This allows Sirius to adopt different moods, reactions, and roles—from playful puppy to helpful assistant. Developers can dive deeper with support for Python, C, and C++, enabling advanced programming and hardware integration via USB-C expansion ports.
This robot quadruped includes a camera, microphone array, and expandable modules for navigation and interaction. It ships with a PD30W charger and a 2250mAh battery that provides 40 to 60 minutes of active use or up to 2 hours in standby mode. Charging takes approximately 50 minutes.
