The Hiwonder LanderPi is a modular Raspberry Pi-powered robot car with AI vision, SLAM navigation, and a 6DOF robotic arm—designed for advanced robotics education and embodied AI development. The Hiwonder LanderPi is a composite robotics platform built around the Raspberry Pi 5 and ROS2, offering a rich suite of sensors, actuators, and AI capabilities for developers, educators, and researchers. The LanderPi integrates a Raspberry Pi 5 with the RRCLite robot controller, running Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and ROS2 Humble in Docker. The system supports Python, C++, and JavaScript, and includes a 64GB TF card for onboard storage. Users can choose between three chassis options—Mecanum wheels for omnidirectional movement, Ackermann steering for realistic vehicle dynamics, or a tank-style tracked base for rugged terrain. Each chassis is constructed from anodized aluminum alloy and powered by metal-geared DC motors with high-precision AB-phase encoders.
The robot’s 6DOF robotic arm uses HX-06L smart bus servos for smooth, coordinated motion and is paired with the Aurora930 Pro 3D depth camera mounted at its end-effector. This configuration enables first-person visual intelligence for object recognition, tracking, and grasping. The arm supports autonomous sorting, navigation-based handling, and AI-assisted manipulation tasks.
LanderPi’s visual perception system includes the Aoride MS200 LiDAR for 360-degree SLAM mapping and obstacle avoidance. The robot can perform fixed-point navigation, dynamic rerouting, and multi-robot coordination. Its WonderEcho Pro AI voice box adds natural language interaction with noise reduction, speech recognition, and voice broadcast capabilities. Combined with ChatGPT integration, LanderPi interprets semantic commands and executes context-aware actions, enabling fluid human-robot interaction. With a 7.4V 2200mAh LiPo battery, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, and mobile app support for iOS and Android, LanderPi is a fully integrated robotics solution.
