AYANEO’s Pocket AIR Mini reimagines retro gaming in a form factor that fits comfortably in your hand—and your pocket. Designed as an affordable gateway into classic gaming, this Android-based handheld delivers a premium experience with thoughtful engineering and a focus on nostalgia.
The Pocket AIR Mini features a 4.2-inch IPS display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1280 × 960 pixels. This screen is purpose-built for retro titles, eliminating the need for stretching or letterboxing. With 500 nits of brightness and professional color calibration, it offers vibrant visuals even in outdoor lighting, making pixel art and sprite-based games look crisp and authentic.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Helio G90T processor, featuring two high-performance Cortex-A76 cores and six energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores. Paired with a Mali-G76 GPU, the Pocket AIR Mini handles emulation for platforms like PlayStation, Nintendo 64, and GameCube with ease. Users can choose between 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card. Android 11 provides a flexible software environment for installing emulators, sideloading games, and customizing the interface.
The controls are engineered for precision and durability. Hall effect analog sticks and triggers eliminate drift and wear, while tactile buttons offer satisfying feedback. RGB lighting on the sticks adds a modern touch, especially in low-light settings. The layout is inspired by classic handhelds but optimized for comfort, with rounded edges and an ergonomic grip that supports long play sessions without fatigue.
Connectivity includes WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, a USB-C port for 18W fast charging, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Dual front-facing speakers deliver clear stereo sound, enhancing immersion in both retro and modern titles. The 4500mAh battery provides 4 to 6 hours of gameplay depending on usage, and the active cooling system ensures stable performance during extended sessions.
Physically, the Pocket AIR Mini measures approximately 6.5 × 3.25 × 0.75 inches (165.9 × 82.5 × 18.7 mm) at its thinnest point and weighs about 9.5 ounces (269 grams). It’s available in Retro White, Aurora Black, and Retro Power color schemes, each evoking a different era of gaming. The build quality is solid, with a durable plastic shell and a design that balances aesthetics with portability.
