Mid-Drive Ebike
February 24, 2026
The Velotric Discover M is a high-performance, mid-drive electric commuter bike designed to offer a more natural and powerful riding experience than traditional hub-drive models. The Discover M features a proprietary VeloCore 500W mid-drive motor, which delivers a nominal 500 watts and a peak output of 960 watts. With 100Nm of torque, it provides significantly more pulling power than many competitors, making it exceptionally capable on steep inclines and against heavy headwinds. The bike features a 48V 16.7Ah battery with Samsung/LG cells, totaling 801.6Wh. This setup provides an impressive range of up to 95 miles on pedal assist or up to 70 miles using only the throttle.
Its SensorSwap technology allows riders to choose between torque and cadence sensing to match their riding style, whether they want the intuitive feel of a torque sensor for technical terrain or the consistent assistance of a cadence sensor for relaxed cruising. The bike also includes an Auto Mode that automatically adjusts power output based on the terrain. For security and convenience, it is equipped with Apple Find My and Android Find Hub compatibility, NFC card unlocking, and Bluetooth connectivity for over-the-air updates via the Velotric app.
Comfort and safety are addressed through the ComfortMax system, which includes an upright riding geometry, an 80mm adjustable air suspension fork, and a suspension seatpost. The drivetrain uses a high-quality Shimano Cues 9-speed system, paired with Tektro hydraulic disc brakes for reliable stopping power. The bike is built to be rugged and weather-resistant, with an IPX6 rating for the entire bike and an IPX7 rating for the battery. It is available in two frame sizes and has a substantial total payload capacity of 440 pounds.
