Gyro-to-Mouse Gaming Controller

February 5, 2026

The Alpakka 2 is a high-performance gyro-to-mouse gaming controller developed by Input Labs, designed to bring the precision of a mouse to a handheld controller format. Its primary innovation is the inclusion of four independent IMU (gyroscope) sensors, which work together to provide mouse emulation. This makes it particularly suitable for competitive PC gaming, Linux users, and gamers who prefer the comfort of a controller without sacrificing the aiming accuracy typically associated with a keyboard and mouse.

There are two main versions of the device being offered. The Alpakka 2 PRO is a fully assembled, premium controller aimed at the same market as the Xbox Elite or DualSense Edge. It features an injection-molded case, a wireless dongle, and pre-installed firmware. For those who enjoy building their own hardware, the Alpakka 2 DIY kit includes all necessary electronic components, allowing users to 3D-print their own cases and buttons using open-source models provided by Input Labs. The project is notable for its open-source philosophy, as schematics and software are available for the community to modify.

Input Labs has based this version on lessons learned from its predecessors, focusing the current development on perfecting the injection molding process and obtaining necessary wireless certifications for the PRO version. The controller supports customizable profiles through a dedicated Ctrl app, ensuring that users can tailor the input sensitivity and button mapping to their specific gaming needs.
