The Cansonic UltraDash Z4 is a 4K dash camera designed to provide high-definition evidence and superior night-time performance for modern drivers. It serves as the most advanced model in the Cansonic lineup, utilizing the Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor. This hardware enables the device to record in true 4K resolution with High Dynamic Range (HDR) at 30 frames per second, ensuring that critical details like license plates and road signs remain legible even in challenging lighting conditions, such as direct sunlight or low-light environments.

A distinguishing characteristic of the Z4 is its specialized dual-lens configuration, which includes a signature telephoto lens. While a standard wide-angle lens captures the overall environment, the telephoto lens is specifically calibrated to focus on distant objects, allowing the camera to identify license plates from much farther away than traditional dash cams. For data management, the unit features 5GHz wireless connectivity, which facilitates rapid footage previews and downloads to a smartphone via a dedicated app, significantly reducing the wait time compared to standard 2.4GHz connections.

The device is also equipped with a built-in 10Hz GPS logger, which provides highly frequent updates to accurately record driving speed, geographical coordinates, and the exact route taken. For 24/7 vehicle protection, the Z4 supports a parking mode that can monitor the car's surroundings while it is unattended, though this typically requires a separate hardwire kit to provide continuous power from the vehicle's battery.
