Desktop SoftGel Injection Molding
July 24, 2025
The SALTGATOR SoftGel Injection Molding Machine is a compact desktop device that brings industrial-grade soft material fabrication into homes, classrooms, and maker studios. Designed for ease of use and creative flexibility, it allows users to produce soft, squishy items like silicone grips, cosplay props, keyboard caps, and custom toys in just minutes—without the complexity or cost of traditional molding systems.
Unlike 3D printers that build objects layer by layer, the SALTGATOR uses a direct injection process. Users fill a premade mold with softgel material, heat it inside the machine’s enclosed chamber, and inject it to form the final product. The machine supports up to 4 fluid ounces of material per cycle and reaches temperatures up to 410 degrees Fahrenheit, making it suitable for thermoplastic elastomers and silicone-based compounds.
Its plug-and-play design includes a simple control panel, auto shut-off, and fume-free operation, making it safe for desktop use. The outer shell is insulated to prevent burns, and the injection process is mechanical rather than hydraulic, reducing risk and noise. The entire workflow—from heating to cooling—can be completed in about 10-15 minutes, streamlining the creation of soft parts for DIY projects, educational demos, or small-batch production.
To support beginners, SALTGATOR offers a mold library with downloadable STL files for 3D printing, as well as starter kits with pre-made molds. Advanced users can design their own molds or reuse existing ones, enabling endless customization. Materials can be remelted and reused, minimizing waste and lowering long-term costs.
