The HiMill D1 and D1S desktop CNC machines from Maxmake deliver professional-grade capabilities in a compact, user-friendly format. The D1 and D1S share a generous working volume of 11 × 7.9 × 3.1 inches (280 × 200 × 80 mm), housed in a topology-optimized cast aluminum frame. The D1S model takes precision further with repeatability down to ±0.0008 inches (±0.02 mm), thanks to its G1204 ball screw drive system.
Both machines feature a 250-watt brushless spindle capable of speeds up to 1000mm/min, supporting a wide range of materials including aluminum, brass, wood, acrylic, carbon fiber, and PCBs. The quick-change tool system allows users to swap heads in seconds, and the optional 10W blue laser module snaps on without removing the spindle. Integrated dust ports actively remove chips and cool the spindle during operation. Combined with the enclosed frame, this keeps the workspace clean and quiet.
The machines are compatible with popular platforms like Fusion 360, FreeCAD, and VCarve. The built-in 3D probe enables dynamic surface mapping and auto-leveling, while the tool setter ensures precise Z-axis calibration for every job. Connectivity is streamlined via USB and Wi-Fi, and the system supports modular upgrades such as 4-axis machining.
