Color FDM 3D Printer

August 9, 2025

The Phrozen ARCO is a high-performance FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printer engineered for consumers. As Phrozen’s first filament-based printer—following its success in resin 3D printing—the ARCO introduces a suite of flagship features that elevate desktop fabrication to industrial-grade capability. Built around a CoreXY motion system and a stationary build platform, the ARCO delivers exceptional stability and speed. It features an 11.8 by 11.8 by 11.8 inch (300 by 300 by 300 millimeter) build volume, paired with print speeds of up to 1000 millimeters per second and acceleration rates reaching 40,000 millimeters per second squared.

The printer’s patented architecture features a low center of gravity and reinforced frame, reducing vibration and improving layer accuracy. Its Direct Extrusion Path moves heat dissipation upward, shortening the distance between the drive gear and nozzle. This design enhances torque and extrusion flow, especially when using high-speed or engineering-grade materials.

ARCO supports multi-color and multi-material printing through the optional Chroma Kit, a four-tube direct feed system that accelerates filament switching by up to 50 percent compared to conventional setups. This enables smoother transitions and more vibrant, complex prints without manual intervention. Users can further customize their setup with premium nozzles, including high-flow options from Bondtech and abrasion-resistant GammaMaster® nozzles from Slice Engineering.

The ARCO offers advanced features like 25-point auto-leveling with sub-0.05 millimeter tolerance, material breakage detection, and resume-after-power-outage functionality. The optional PentaShield enclosure reduces operational noise by up to 15 percent and includes automated temperature control and an activated carbon filter.
