Always On AR Glasses

April 1, 2026

Pickle 1 is an AI-powered augmented reality glasses system developed by the startup Pickle. Introduced as a central component of a personal, memory-based operating system, the device is designed to continuously learn the wearer's real-world context, preferences, and intent to offer a highly proactive digital assistant experience. The overall goal of the system is to capture layers of personal context to form the foundation of a real personal intelligence that scales with the user over time.

Weighing just 68 grams, the glasses feature a binocular full-color display powered by advanced waveguide technology, making graphics clear both indoors and in bright sunlight. The hardware is equipped with always-on cameras and microphones to perform real-time ambient capturing, enabling the device to see and hear what the user does. This allows the AI to anticipate needs and project relevant suggestions, contextual memories, and automated actions such as reservations or messaging directly into the user's line of sight without requiring a manual prompt.

To address the significant privacy concerns associated with an always-on wearable, the developer employs a heavily secured data architecture. AI processing is executed via stateless requests routed through blind-relay TLS tunnels directly from Secure Enclaves, meaning raw ambient data is processed temporarily in volatile memory and cannot be logged or used for model training. Decryption keys are generated locally on the user's device, ensuring that stored data remains encrypted at rest as high-entropy noise that even the manufacturer cannot access. Users also retain full granular control through a dedicated interface to adjust exactly what context the glasses are permitted to capture.

The device is not a standalone computer but functions as a phone-tethered personal intelligence interface. It includes a 12-hour dual battery setup for all-day mixed use and comes with a dedicated charging case and stand.
