AI Cooking Assistant

January 28, 2026

Gambit is an AI-powered cooking assistant device developed by Gambit Robotics that is currently launching on Kickstarter. The product is designed to mount magnetically above a stove, typically on a range hood or microwave, to provide real-time guidance and monitoring during the cooking process. Its primary goal is to help home cooks achieve professional results by eliminating guesswork and preventing common mistakes like burning or overcooking food.

The device utilizes three core technologies to assist the user. First, it features 4K RGB computer vision that recognizes ingredients and tracks their cooking progress. Second, it uses thermal imaging to map heat distribution across the pan, detecting hot spots and oil temperatures that are invisible to the naked eye. Finally, it incorporates conversational AI that speaks to the cook through built-in audio, offering instructions such as when to flip a steak or lower the burner heat. Users can import recipes from websites, photos of handwritten cards, or digital files, which the system then breaks down into actionable steps.

Gambit Robotics has designed the hardware to match modern kitchens with three finish options: Onyx Black, Arctic White, and Stone Gray.
